Frostbite – Richelle Mead

This book was soo goodddd~~ I think I may have liked it more than the first one.. I give it a… 3.8/5.

So the academy goes to this ski resort thing that’s at like the main vampire.. palace.. Kind of like the White House. Before the winter break a lot of these royal vampire families are being killed, wiped out by mass attacks by strigoi.  A few things that happens is the vampires have a debate on using their powers to defend themselves, Dimitri is getting cozy with Tasha Ozera, and these three boys go out to find the strigoi and kill them.

So Tasha Ozera is pretty cool, I’m not going to lie, she’s strong and she defends herself well, but NO! ROSE and Dimitri! Not TASHA and Dimitri!! When these three boys find out where the strigoi are hiding, they go out and try to stop them, Rose feeling responsible because she told them where they were, goes out with a few others and tries to find them.

This book is so intense, oh my gosh, but so good! This book also moved really fast which I really like in a book, I hate a book that stalls… It was just so good, I don’t know how else to explain it!

I cried during the whole like last 2-3 chapters! Why Mason?! I legit started bawling when Rose like laid her head on his chest and like tried to defend him when all the other guardians came. But the book had great visuals when it came to the entire fighting/escape scene, from the burning cuffs to the beheading. It was all good. Very good.

Rose loves Dimitri, Dimitri might love Tasha, and Mason would die to be with Rose…
It’s winter break at St. Vladimir’s, but Rose is feeling anything but festive. A massive Strigoi attack has put the school on high alert, and now the Academy’s crawling with Guardians—including Rose’s hard-hitting mother, Janine Hathaway. And if hand-to-hand combat with her mom wasn’t bad enough, Rose’s tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason’s got a huge crush on her, and Rose keeps getting stuck in Lissa’s head while she’s making out with her boyfriend, Christian! The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy’s not taking any risks… This year, St. Vlad’s annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.
But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only create the illusion of safety. When three friends run away in an offensive move against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. But heroism rarely comes without a price…

Vampire Academy – Richelle Mead

I read Vampire Academy near the beginning over the summer, but I never got around to blogging it. I loved this book, I really, really liked it. I read the first 4 books within the course of the week. I give it… 3.5/5.

This book is a about Rose and Lissa, they’re best friends and they go to a vampire school where there are both dhampirs and vampires, dhampirs are half-vampire, half-human, and they’re trained to eventually become a guardian for full vampires. This book in particular focuses on Lissa and her ability to heal things, and basically there is someone that just wants to abuse her power.

This book was really good, it reminded me of House of Night, but better. I only read the first 3 of House of Night, and I have to say it was pretty bad….

I like it because it moves really fast, I mean a lot happens in this one book, and it’s really visual. I can feel myself in the book.. sounds weird but read the book you’ll see.. It has a good level of action and romance, and I love Rose’s snarky attitude and her sarcasm. If a movie version came out, I could totally see Eliza Dushku for the part! Yes?? If she were like.. 5 years younger hahaha. I really hope they don’t make a really bad movie interpretation because the book is just soo good..

Anyway… I love the Rose/Dimitri thing they got going, except I don’t imagine Dimitri with a Russian accent… it’s just.. not very sexy. hhahahaa.

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. . . .
Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.
